Now embarking on his maiden campaign with Stuttgart, the midfielder has quickly established himself as a pivotal figure. In a recent interview with 'The Athletic', he reflected on his formative years at La Fabrica, the mentors who shaped his career, and the transformative influence of Alvaro Arbeloa.

"Real Madrid is the pinnacle of world football, and breaking into that side is the ultimate challenge," the midfielder admitted. "That reality dictates everything: the world's elite want to join, and they usually do. For the academy, it sets the bar incredibly high, creating a landscape far removed from that of Barcelona, which is influenced more by financial constraints and squad dynamics."

He reserved special praise for Arbeloa's guidance during his time in the youth ranks: "I wasn't playing regularly, I wasn't at my best, and I was going through a difficult spell. He recognised that and handled it perfectly. He was a massive help. He gave it to me straight, always tried to see my perspective, and ensured I understood his. He is the best communicator I've ever worked under."

Inevitably, the prospect of an eventual return to the Spanish giants remains, though he acknowledges he still has plenty to prove and that the ball is in the club's court. "That is for Real Madrid to decide. I would be thrilled to go back, but it isn't something I'm dwelling on right now. I've told my agent I don't want to hear anything about it. When the time is right, we'll sit down and look at the options."

His decision to join Stuttgart was driven by the desire for a high-level environment that offered genuine progression. "The sporting project aligned with my ambitions: to make the step up to professional football and secure the minutes I needed. I spoke with the manager and he sold it to me. I could tell he truly wanted me there and had faith in my ability; he made that very clear."
